We are committed to providing a low cost, effective website to every church in America. The web is becoming—and in many ways already is—the first place potential church goes look to find churches in their area. Every church needs to have a effective website in order to respond to these potential new members. The Every Church Online (ECO) project will partner with associations of churches to provide their members with an effective web presence. Further ECO will develop a repeatable process for this work and open source this process so that others who share our vision can participate.
The short answer is no. I (Jacob Smith) have been raised in the Christian tradition and think that it is important to work inside that tradition. The truth is that I don’t feel like I have the knowledge to serve other traditions well. That isn’t to say that I don’t hope to see “Every Synagogue Online” or “Every Temple Online” or “Every Mosque Online.” We are creating an open process that anyone can apply to their tradition.
